Another day of Snow!

A beautifully white and bright day with sleigh rides, Santa, hot chocolate and other wintry delights. OK so it wasn't in Vancouver per say, though extremely near by in the mountains. Grouse Mountain to be exact.

A 40 minute, give or take, bus from Downtown Vancouver to the base of the mountain, (quicker if have a car). The Skyride (cable car), jammed like sardines, ride to the Lodge and base of the slopes. From here you can enjoy the activities available within the front valley or jump on the lifts and head further up to go skiing or snowboarding.

At this time of year the the front valley is occupied by many people up to see Santa's Workshop, a couple of reindeer, go skating, snowshoeing or for a sleigh ride. Indoors can get some great views across the valley, out over Vancouver. Shopping and hot food and beverages, of course, though also carolers by the fire, huge display of decorated trees and movies every half hour. I happened to venture in to see the old classic, 'The Grinch who stole Christmas'. Not quite know off by heart, though many great lines!

So whether for a day of fun or for hitting the slopes, Grouse mountain is certainly easily accessible for anyone and there is much to do.
